The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director. Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year. God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started i...
Taking off this morning for North Carolina, again! Get ready, get ready, get ready for a LIFE CHANGING weekend, ladies of NC!
My sniffling, sneezing and burns are under control. And even if they weren't I'd still be going. (Burns? Yes. I poured 2 quarts of boiling water into a pitcher that exploded on me yesterday, down my thigh and onto my foot. Lovely.) I just have to laugh. The crazier stuff gets before I leave the more I know God's fixin' to rock the place!!!
I'm not surprised that stuff like this happens when I leave to preach somewhere...it always does. Not the same things of course, but a different array of distractions. There are always a lot of them and then I get to the place and God moves. It's just the way things are. I know my role is to press through no matter what and GET THERE.
Yesterday when I burned myself I just threw a beach towel over the two quarts of water on the floor (so the dogs wouldn't get burned either - they were my first thought), ran in the other room to Google, "what to do when you get scalded" and followed the directions. I ran a tub full of tepid/cool water and sat in it for 20 excruciating minutes. Max sat beside the tub staring at me, very concerned. Having a cold already the last thing I wanted to do was sit in a tub full of cold water but some things you just have to do for the greater good and this was one. I sat there in the bathtub watching my watch thinking, "why does this feel like two hours instead of two minutes?!"
One thing I know -- hell is a place I DON'T wanna be. And there is no tub of tepid water there, folks. So make sure your relationship with Jesus is genuine and up to date!
Keep us in prayer this weekend in Gastonia, NC! I'm so excited about what God is going to do.
