What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! What does a leader look for in a friend?


Did you ever wonder what leaders are looking for in a friend?  

There are several qualities that are not optional for the close friend of a leader to possess. Two of the most important are a pure heart (right motivation) and someone who always speaks well of them. I got this from the greatest leadership book every written, by the way.  I'm about to quote from it.  The truth is that leaders are so consumed with a plethora of details, they don't have time to worry all the time about whether the folks close to them are there for the right reasons, or have their back.

Proverbs 22:11 says, God loves the pure-hearted and well-spoken; good leaders also delight in their friendship."  Proverbs 22:11 (MSG)

What does well spoken mean?  It speaks of positive, loyal conversation.  

The NLT puts it this way:  "Whoever loves a pure heart and gracious speech will have the king as a friend."  A person that Proverbs 22 speaks of will not only HAVE the king (leader) as a friend, but a person who is faithful with these qualities also KEEPS the king (leader) as a  friend.

If you are a person God has chosen to be a close friend to a leader, these qualities are not optional if you want to have a lasting relationship.

I totally agree, although I had never put it into words... I have been without a close (geographical location) friend for several years, and without a true close friend (heart wise) for a couple of years. I think I have one now. I am still getting to know her. I am really scared to trust anyone after the last couple of years... ;) I think, (hope and pray) she has these qualities.
btw thanks for your encouragement on my blog... I am attempting to get back at that... I just find I have to consider sooooooo much when I post, since I am in college and hope to be job searching soon... I don't want to be googled and then not get hired because of something stupid I blogged in anger.

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you.
