The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director. Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year. God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! I find that what Seth is saying here is absolutely true, with one disclaimer. For Christian leaders, spiritual disciplines must always be first. Before we started inve
So call me crazy, but I actually think this is cool.
Don't forget, we took Maddie to church every service (Sunday AND Wednesday) until she was old enough to hold her bladder until we got home from services. I don't know how we would have done it otherwise because she would have had an accident in her kennel when she was that small. And the thought of that just did not fly with me. So, we kept her kennel in our office at church so we could care for her during that time and she actually attended youth group every Wednesday night for about 6 months. The kids loved her -- she was like the youth mascot. :) While she was not actually in the Sunday morning services, people would always see her outside before and after church, while someone had her on her leash out by the lake. After a few months she was big enough that she could hold it until we got home from church and then we would let her out. So, she started staying home when we were gone.
We actually periodically have people in the church ask about Maddie because they miss her being there. A while back on a Sunday morning I put a current photo on the screen so that everybody could see how much she's grown. Why anyone from our church would not read my blog to see her updated photo on a regular basis, I do not know (LOL) but for those woefully uninformed people, I am forced to to post a photo on the screen at church.
At Northside we are getting ready to start a "recovery service" (for those recovering from addictions, difficult life situations, etc.) but now maybe we need to visit the idea of a dog service?
All dogs go to heaven anyway, but they could still use some fellowship while here on earth, right? :)
