What To Do First to Make a Profit

The PF Women Team at our Annual Team Retreat  ~ 2018 Today on Seth Godin's blog, he said: It's tempting to decide to make a profit first, then invest in training, people, facilities, promotion, customer service and most of all, doing important work. In general, though, it goes the other way. Yes, it does. If you are waiting to make a profit before you do these things, in my experience you're  not going to make a profit. So many organizations, ministries and churches are struggling with financial issues. I know your pain. As anyone who follows our story knows, our ministry was in a ton of debt four years ago when I came on as director.  Since that time, we've gotten out of debt and turned a profit every year.  God has done amazing things through out team, for which we give Him the glory! Northside day at the beach/baptism






















Today was our church day at the beach ~ picnic and water baptism, after morning worship. (Another benefit of living in paradise...) Susan was baptized today. (See picture at top.) After lunch we swam. We weren't there until sunset as we normally are because it thunderstormed after only about and hour or hour and half at most of swimming. BUMMER. But the time we did have was so blessed. It was beautiful!


The lifeguards made everyone get out when the lightning started. At that point most had to go home but Larry said, "let's go home and shower and change and go out to the movies with anybody who wants to go see Iron Man. So we did! Fun!







I'm still tired - longing for a weekend with some real downtime next Friday. "No emergencies" is my prayer...during my work week this week, this is seriously going to be a prayer focus for me. I need a true day off. I might even do a "PJ day!" Seriously, I'm overdue.

I'll be thinking of you this Friday when I indulge in MY long-awaited PJ day, lol!! Or maybe a "lounge by the pool with some iced tea and a good book" day...depends on the weather :o).

Sisterhood Rises Up To Change Lives Forever

God is in the business of preserving families. It is His heart. It's my heart too. And, I'll unabashedly say here that I believe it should be everyone's heart. Everyone likes good news and I've got some for you today. If you are in doubt that God still speaks today and that He uses people to accomplish His work, I pray this will speak to you. Last night I was sitting in service at Celebration Church where we are pastors, and my husband was preaching. His message was about what we want to be remembered for in life, and he made the statement that we can't change our past but we can change the future.  In that moment, God spoke to me.
